Due to the ongoing smoky conditions and air quality concerns, we’ve made the touch decision to postpone the Sidewalk Chalk Art Competition until next year. While we were excited to host this community engagement event, the health and safety of all participants is our top priority. We’ve hopeful for clearer skies ahead and look forward to seeing you next year!

We’re inviting local talent—seasoned artists and budding creatives—to bring colour, creativity, and fun to the sidewalks of St. James Village BIZ this summer with our Sidewalk Chalk Art Competition!
NO COST TO ENTER!
🌈 Show off your skills, brighten up our community, and compete for a chance to WIN CASH PRIZES! All registered participants will receive a starter kit and be featured on our social media and website. Plus, the community will vote to determine the winners!
🏆 Prizes:
🥇 1st Place – $500
🥈 2nd Place – $300
🥉 3rd Place – $200

Submit your application and a minimum 4′ x 4′ draft chalk design (composite drawing) for approval. Larger designs may be possible depending on location.

Artists can request a preferred sidewalk location along Portage Avenue within the St. James Village BIZ (based on suitability and availability).

Participants will receive a base kit, including:
🎨 Crayola Bright Colours Sidewalk Chalk Set
🌟 Pastels
🖌️ Brushes
💨 Setting Spray
